Welcome back, EKU alumni!

Welcome to Eastern Kentucky University and the Dept. of Communication! We encourage you to use this page as your starting point as you return (electronically!) to visit with us. Much has changed over the past 34 years (the Department was started as the Department of Mass Communications in 1973) and we'd like to fill you in on some of that. We have added one additional major and now have four majors in the areas of Broadcasting and Electronic Media, Communication Studies, Journalism and Public Relations. As you click on each of these majors, you'll find a general description of the major, curriculum guides, and links to other related sites.

We have about 360 majors total now with Public Relations being the largest group. We still house the Eastern Progress and various student organizations. The radio station went dark a few years ago and we still miss it! We do produce a live television program for campus consumption once a week.
