Tim Webb

Tim Webb, University photographer in Eastern Kentucky University's Division of Public Relations and Marketing, has earned a prestigious international photography award.

Webb earned first place in the science and research category in the annual print competition during the 38th annual Technical Symposium conducted by the University Photographers' Association of America (UPAA).

Webb has served as EKU's University photographer since 1994. His award-winning photograph depicted EKU's Hummel Planetarium and its director, Dr. Jack Fletcher.

"Tim's most recent recognition by his peers is well-deserved and comes as no surprise to those of us who work with him," said Ron Harrell, EKU director of public relations and marketing. "His photographs reflect his hard work and dedication to his craft."

The UPAA is an international organization of college and university photographers concerned with the application and practice of photography as it relates to the higher education setting.

This year's entries included more than 200 photographs depicting various aspects of university life that have been used in campus promotional and recruitment publications. Winning photographs and publications were selected by a jury of university photographers from across the U.S. and Canada during the 38th annual Technical Symposium held June 22-25 in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Webb is a 1988 graduate of Powell County High School and a 1992 journalism graduate of EKU.
