Dr. Amy Thieme is an Associate Professor of Communication Studies. She received her Ph.D. in Interpersonal Communication with an emphasis in Dispute Resolution in 1996 from Ohio University. Dr. Thieme has been at Eastern Kentucky University since 1995. She teaches courses in Conflict Resolution, Mediation, Argumentation & Debate, Persuasion, and Communication in the Legal Profession. Dr. Thieme is the Director of the Mediation Center at Eastern Kentucky University. She has been a certified mediator since 1991, has 40 hours of mediation training and 10 hours of advanced training in mediating special problems. She has been teaching, researching, and practicing mediation for over 13 years. Dr. Thieme is also a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution.
